EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) Efficiency Ratings

What is a Domestic EPC?

  • A Domestic EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) is a report which sets out the energy efficiency of a residential property using a traffic light system from A to G, with an A rating being the most efficient.
     

  • An EPC is valid for 10 years.

Why do I need an EPC?

  • A valid Domestic EPC is a legal requirement if you are marketing a property either for sale or for rent. Check if your property needs an EPC here.

How does it work?

  • If you require an EPC, one of our assessors will need to visit your property.
     

  • Typically, they will require 30 minutes on site, with access to every room and access to the boiler and the loft (if you have one).
     

  • Your EPC will be uploaded to the central register within 24 hours of the site visit.
     

  • We will send you a link to your EPC via email.
